So, I have been hearing all about green smoothies for a while now. I need to find one I love so I can add it to my diet but everytime I see something blended up, I think it should taste like a milk shake or something.
So, here is where I need your help.. I want to try your favorite heathy smoothie. Keep in mind, I don't want something that will spike my blood sugar and it has to taste good.. I know, I can't think of how that works either.. SO, impress me.. Dazzle me and if I love your green smoothie the mostest, I will have some great prize for you.. I am thinking a new apron or some cute new pot holders!

The only one we love is full of sugar.... base liquid is orange juice (thought next time I might do half orange juice & half water); pineapple, 1 pear, 1 banana, and a BUNCH of spinach.
Here is the direct recipe:
1 banana (frozen or not), cut into chunks
1 cup chopped frozen pineapple
1 pear, coarsely chopped
1½ cups orange juice
2½ cups baby spinach leaves, rinsed and dried
1-2 tbsp. honey
3 tbsp. ground flaxseed (optional)
My girls LOVE it (as do I, but the orange juice I'm sure will spike the blood sugar!)
Teri, you should try Tropicana 50 with any flavor of crystal light and add low glycemic fruit like cantaloupe, apples with just a couple of fresh strawberries.I try to use fresh Kale in it to get my green(veggies/fiber) and lots of ice. Hope this helps, I never measure so it is really what the strongest flavor you want to come through.
